專有名詞

 

①特定的人、地方、機(jī)構(gòu)等專有的名稱。第一個(gè)字母通常大寫(xiě)。

 

e.g：Ross Miller, New York, Bank of China, Peking University

 

②星期、月份、節(jié)日、學(xué)科、報(bào)刊名等也是專有名詞。

 

e.g：July, Monday, New Year,English, China Daily

 

普通名詞

 

表示一類人或物或抽象概念的名稱。普通名詞又可分為四類：

 

①個(gè)體名詞：表示某類人或東西中的個(gè)體。

 

   e.g：student, bag

 

②集體名詞：表示若干個(gè)體組成的集合體。

 

   e.g：class, family

 

③物質(zhì)名詞：表示無(wú)法分為個(gè)體的物質(zhì)名詞。

 

   e.g：water, rice

 

④抽象名詞：表示情感，狀態(tài)，品質(zhì)等抽象的概念。

 

   e.g：love, friendship

 

個(gè)體名詞和集體名詞多數(shù)可以用數(shù)目來(lái)計(jì)算，稱為可數(shù)名詞，有單、復(fù)數(shù)形式；物質(zhì)名詞和抽象名詞通常無(wú)法用數(shù)目計(jì)算，稱為不可數(shù)名詞，一般只有一種形式。

 

特殊情況

 

①集體名詞作為一個(gè)整體來(lái)看的時(shí)候，表達(dá)單數(shù)概念。

 

 e.g：His family is big.他家是個(gè)大家庭。

 

②集體名詞被看做若干個(gè)體的集合體時(shí)，表達(dá)復(fù)數(shù)概念。

 

e.g：His family are having dinner together.他全家人正在一起吃晚餐。

 

③集體名詞表達(dá)多個(gè)集體時(shí)，也有復(fù)數(shù)形式。

 

e.g：Our  town is made  of  3000  families .我們鎮(zhèn)上有3000戶人家。
